1. Cake Cutting
- Many venues charge a wedding cake-cutting fee, which can range from $1.50 or more per guest. This fee often covers the labor of slicing and serving the cake, which can add up quickly for weddings with larger guest counts.
- At The Fez, cake cutting is included in your wedding package. We handle the slicing and serving, allowing you to focus on the sweet cake smash that is up ahead.
2. Event Space
- Room rental fees can vary, and setup and cleanup can double your costs. Some venues charge cleaning fees, which can range from $200 to $1,000, depending on the size of the venue and the extent of the cleanup required.
- We don’t charge room rental fees. The room for your wedding reception is included with setup and cleanup of your event. Show up, celebrate, and leave the heavy lifting to us.
3. Bar Service
- Some venues close the bar during dinner or have limited service hours, which can disrupt the flow of your event and leave guests raising empty glasses.
- No dry spells here. Our bar remains open throughout your event with full beverage service.
4. Overtime Costs
- There can be strict end times and overtime fees if your event runs longer than scheduled. These fees can range from $500 to $2,000 per hour based on the venue. Always ask about the overtime policy when booking your wedding and get details in writing before signing the contract.
- Not every event is celebrated at a set end time. We offer flexibility so there’s no rushing out. Guests can gather belongings and say goodbyes at a relaxed pace. If you do add extra hours to your wedding package, that’s no problem. We won’t make you feel like Cinderella running from the clock.
5. Vendor Fees
- Some venues require you to use their preferred vendors, often at a premium, and may charge additional fees if you choose to bring in your own.
- We’ll recommend trusted vendors, but you’re never required to use them. You choose who you want. Your music, your flowers, your photographer, not ours. We’re here to celebrate your wedding day, your way.
6. Early Access for Decorating
- Some places make you wait until the morning of your wedding to decorate. Other venues may also charge decorating fees or for using their in-house items.
- We offer early access for decorating, often allowing you to begin setup the day before your wedding (when available). If the room is open, take your time, relax, and avoid the “race-against-the-clock” décor dash. This will give you time to prepare your room, and extra time to get ready on your wedding day. We also provide centerpieces as part of your wedding package that are your choice to use.
7. Bridal Suite Fees
- Want a place to get ready? Some venues add another line item. Access to bridal suites can come with additional fees, and some venues have limited availability.
- Our bridal suite is yours from 90 minutes before your ceremony until the end of your reception. Sip champagne, snap photos, and enjoy the space. Private restrooms are also available.
